James Corden planning Gaga BRITs tribute

James Corden wants to enter the BRIT Awards in an egg, as a tribute to Lady Gaga.

The British comic - who will front tonight's (15.02.11) ceremony from London's The O2 - wants to mimic the eccentric star's Grammy Awards entrance and would like 'X Factor' finalists One Direction to carry him onstage encased in a shell before 'hatching' out of it to open the show..

James joked to The Sun newspaper: "I thought about turning up in an egg carried by One Direction. I could do a Gaga.

"The Grammys haven't been televised yet over here, so a lot of people wouldn't get it though - it'd just be a bloke in an egg."

In 2009, James, 32, co-hosted the ceremony with comedy partner Mat Horne and Kylie Minogue and admits he is much more nervous this year as he is doing it alone.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I'm as nervous as I've ever been, in my life, ever. Far more so than the first time round.

"Basically I want to host the BRITs with as much warmth and sensitivity as possible. Fewer gags. I'm pleased with the script. I'm a fan of so many of the acts that it felt wrong to do a comedy roast."

Performances at the BRIT Awards will include Take That, Tinie Tempah and Cee Lo Green.

The programme will be shown live from 8pm on ITV1.
