Lakers Lose Badly to Bobcats
Los Angeles embarrassed by loss in Charlotte
The Los Angeles Lakers are the defending champions in the NBA, but they are never excited to face the Charlotte Bobcats. The Bobcats have won eight of the last ten meetings between the teams and the overall record stands 8-5 in favor of the Bobcats.
Last night brought more of the same. The Lakers fell to the Bobcats yet again, this time by 20 points. Gerald Wallace scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Bobcats, with Gerald Henderson adding 18 points of his own while defending Kobe Bryant.
Bryant started the day by missing the morning shootaround. The Lakers said Bryant awoke with chills due to travel, but was in the starting lineup last night. Bryant was out of rhythm from the onset, making only 5 of his first 16 shots, rarely getting to the free throw line and committing five fouls.
The Lakers should bounce back in their next game Wednesday at the Cleveland Cavaliers, who previously this year set a record for professional sports futility. The Bobcats will play a tough Bulls team tonight in Chicago
