Rockets Rain 3 Pointers to Beat Nuggets
Anthony plays poorly in big loss
The Houston Rockets were down early to the Denver Nuggets last night. They got down by 15 in the second quarter before catching fire and outscoring the Nuggets 27-9 to go into halftime with a 58-54 lead.
After the break the Nuggets came out flat, scoring only 14 points to go along with 6 turnovers in the third quarter. They were down by twenty points, 88-68 by the time it was over. To establish and maintain their lead, Houston poured in 3 point shots in the second half. Ten of their fourteen total came in the second half of the game as the Nuggets struggled to play catchup. The game ended 121-102 in favor of the Rockets.
An off game from Carmelo Anthony did not help the Nuggets. The leading scorer for the team was Arron Afflalo with 17 while Anthony had 16. Chauncey Billups added 15 of his own.
The Rockets top two scorers for the game started on the bench. Courtney Lee put up 22 points and Aaron Brooks managed to score another 18. The Rockets as a team compiled 31 assists in the game.
