Handless boy defies odds

A five-year-old boy in China can eat, write and brush his teeth although he has no hands.

Luo Yanbo was involved in an accident with high-pressure electricity lines when he was three and tragically had to have a double amputation.

His mother was forced to move away to earn enough money to pay the bills for his medical treatment, leaving him in the care of his grandmother Li Xiaotao.

It was she along with local teachers who taught him to use chopsticks with his feet so he could do simple tasks for himself.

One of his teachers said: "We taught him to hold a pen with his toes first, which he could not manage initially. But he persisted and learned to write stroke by stroke slowly."
