Kim Cattrall has signed up to star in 'The Treehouse'.
The 'Sex and the City' actress will be joined in the movie - which was originally titled 'The Master of Farnow' - by 'Appaloose' star Jeremy Irons and 'The Boat That Rocked' actor Tom Strurridge.
The film - which is based on a novel by Eduard von Keyserling - is set in pre-World War 1 Germany and details the story of a failed student, his glamorous cousin, her mother and his father.
'Evening' filmmaker Lajos Koltai is to direct the production based on a script being penned by Paul Matersberg.
Kim recently admitted she is enjoying being able to tackle more diverse roles since 'Sex and the City' - in which she played Samantha Jones - finished, in particular starring in a number of theatre productions.
She said: "I'm interested in playing other people. I like working with great writing.
"The separation is very clear between me and that fantastic character of Samantha. What's been really beneficial and exciting for me has been to go back to the theatre. I've done five plays since the series ended, from 'Whose Life Is It Anyway?' to a David Mamet play. I've done Amanda in 'Private Lives' and I've just done 'Cleopatra' at the Liverpool Playhouse."
