Family Dollar Stores, Inc. (NYSE:FDO) shares are skyrocketing 26.71% to $55.70 after the company confirmed that it has received a buyout offer from a New York hedge fund at $55 to $60 per share in cash. The offer values the company at up to $7.6 billion.
Family Dollar says its board “will review the proposal in due course.”
Century Aluminum Company (NASDAQ:CENX) climbed 5.63% to $16.32 after the company said that it earned $65.3 million, or 64 cents in its fourth-quarter on revenue of $316.9 million.
In a year ago quarter, the company had a loss of $24.4 million, or 28 cents on revenue of $256.8 million.
Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) surged 3.02% to $24.89 after the company said that it earned 35 cents a share on revenue of $9.72 billion in its fourth quarter, ahead of analyst estimates of 32 cents a share on revenue of $9.58 billion.
Comcast’s annual dividend payout goes to 45 cents per share, up 19%, with the next quarterly payment of 11.25 cents per share payable on April 27th to shareholders of record as of April 6th.
PC Mall, Inc. (NASDAQ:MALL) soared 8.25% to $8.41 after the company said that it earned 32 cents a share on revenue of $425.4 million in its fourth quarter , ahead of analyst estimates of 29 cents a share on revenue of $380.28 million.
