CYANOTECH CORP (NASDAQ:CYAN) shares are the biggest gainer and soared 49% to $3.90 on hefty volume after the company said that it earned $10,000 in its third quarter on revenue of $3.92 million.
In a year ago quarter, the company had reported $605,000 on revenue of $3.98 million.
Threshold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:THLD) shares surged 28.57% to $2.23 after climbing to its 52-week high of $2.31 earlier in the session.
Co announces that the Company reached agreement with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on a Special Protocol Assessment for a Phase 3 randomized trial of TH-302 in patients with soft tissue sarcoma. This pivotal trial is expected to begin in the middle of 2011, and will enroll patients with metastatic or locally advanced unresectable soft tissue sarcoma who have not previously received chemotherapy outside the adjuvant or neoadjuvant setting. The trial is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of TH-302 in combination with doxorubicin, compared to doxorubicin alone.
Syneron Medical Ltd. (NASDAQ:ELOS) climbed 17.98% to $13.78 after creating a new 52-week high of $14.14.
The company reported fourth quarter revenue of $53.5 million, 14.7% above the $46.6 million in the corresponding quarter. Analysts had expected about $51.73 million.
The fourth quarter financial results include Syneron and Candela results combined. It provided comparison with pro-forma results for 2009 as if the two firms were combined then as well.
