BABY-BOOMERS ABANDON STATUS QUO

Set Out on Independent Path to their Dreams

Thousands of men and women today—mostly Baby Boomers--would dearly love to quit their jobs, retire, whatever term you wish to use, and set out on an independent path and see America behind the wheel of their RV. At Workamper News, the first step toward a member subscriber’s dream is to find out what Workamping is about.  Considered a “Dreamer,” the member takes baby-steps down the path to realizing the dream of experiencing America, one job at a time. http://dreamers.workamper.com

Calling himself the Director of Possibilities, President of Workamper News, Inc., Steve Anderson, guides those that wish to pursue a purposeful life while living in their RV. There are both paid and volunteer positions all over America and some in Canada, and Workamper News is the best way to find out about them.  More importantly, Workamper News provides a huge array of resources and tools to allow the Dreamer to feel confident enough to abandon the status quo and go after a dream.  The Workamper News website at http://www.workamper.com allows the curious to view much of the community for free, but requires membership to really discover what the Workamping lifestyle is about.  Taking the first baby-step to just ask questions about a dream or goal shouldn’t be threatening and the website is designed to answer so many questions right up front without “signing up” before one is ready.  The more informed one is, the less feeling of failure.

Anderson says:  “When one follows any dream at all, even if he falters, he never really fails because the capacity of trying once more is there, and there are always lessons learned from trying.” Number One lesson:  Get up and try again!

Due to an overwhelming fear of failure, there are many who never experience the life they dreamed of. What most people never realize, “failing” does not make one a “failure.”  The only time a person becomes a failure is when he or she stops trying. To realize one’s dreams, a person must be willing to take risks. Always playing it safe just doesn’t cut it. “Failing” is inevitable during a lifetime. The main thing to remember is that working toward a goal or dream is what makes life worth living.

Posted in the Workamper News office is the quote:  “The quality of our lives is directly related to the quality and quantity of the questions we ask.  Ask Empowering Questions!”  Workamper News, through its Webinars, Forums, Roundtables, Jobinars  and other events provides the opportunity for questions to be asked and answers to be given by experts, experienced Workampers and Employers.

There’s really no reason that those Baby Boomers ready to try something new and adventurous can’t be on the road within a year, if not less, with all their questions answered, confident and enthusiastic.

About Workamper News

Workamper News began as a subscription newsletter distributed to a niche market.  The term Workamper, a registered trademark, was coined to describe anyone who combines any kind of work with the RV camping lifestyle.  Designed to put mostly retired or semi-retired RVers and employers together,  campground jobs was the initial focus In 1987, the year that Greg and Debbie Robus formed Workamper News in Heber Springs, Arkansas.   Additional copies were distributed to a variety of commercial campgrounds, government agencies and organizations affiliated with the outdoor industry.  As the Workamper base grew and more jobs meant more pages, the newsletter became a full-fledged magazine. Today, the issues generally contain at least 62 pages of information about job vacancies from coast to coast and some in Canada, as well as features on great Workamping destinations, Workamper and Employer profiles, and general information pertaining to Workamping and Rving.  The introduction of the world wide web enabled Workamper News to expand its services in 1996, and through the years, online subscriptions and optional participation in a variety of forums, webinars, Hotline job advertisements, bookstore, email services and more has created a membership based organization with over 12,000 members. Today, Workamper News is a corporation owned and hands-on managed by Steve and Kathy Jo Anderson with nine employees and numerous independent partners. Having purchased the business in 2005, they continue to expand the opportunities to both Workampers and Employers. Their daughter, Jody Anderson Duquette joined the Company in 2006 after earning a graphic design degree.  Techie-husband Luke Duquette, came on board in 2010.  In February, the business model changed from subscriber based to membership based.
