Charlie Sheen grateful for show suspension

Charlie Sheen is "supremely grateful" production on 'Two and a Half Men' was halted.

The troubled actor - who is set to return to work on the show following its suspension after he underwent rehabilitation for drink and drug problems - is pleased executives behind the show stood in to allow him to deal with his problems before returning.

He said: "People need to understand how supremely grateful I am that somebody stepped in here.

"Basically, Viacom showed up at my house and said, 'Dude, dude, it's getting really obvious and we're really worried about you. We care about your health.'

They came in and man-to-man said, 'We have to shut it down.' This was the only person in my life with the power to do this."

The 45-year-old star also revealed he has never been under the influence of drink or drugs while at work, and is looking forward to returning to the CBS show.

He told the 'Dan Patrick Show': "I've never been drunk, and never been high on the set once. The crew goes back on the 28th. I go back March 1st. I'm just on standby. I'm training. I'm eating well."
