Russell Brand dressed up as a rabbit on the set of his new film.

The comic star voices animated character the Easter Bunny in new movie 'Hop' and his co-star James Marsden claims he got Russell to don a furry outfit while he was filming his live action scenes.

During a joint appearance on the 'Today Show', James said: "We did get to work together when Russell was doing his preliminary recordings. "And then I asked him to dress up as an actual Easter Bunny on set, off camera, and he was just a gracious actor and happy to be there for that."

Russell jokingly replied: "Sometimes I'd do it at James' house for his children and sometimes for his wife. I'm sorry to tell you (James) like this while promoting our film 'Hop'."

The reformed hellraiser also revealed he relished taking on a part in a children's film because he has become a "family orientated" guy since he married Katy Perry.

When quizzed about the movie, he said: "It's for children; it's a family film, directed at families. But I'm quite a family orientated man now, since I've become wed."
