Nicole Richie has warned Charlie Sheen he needs to take responsibility for his recent troubles.
The 29-year-old socialite - who has previously been to rehab to be treated for drug dependence - thinks the 'Two and a Half Men' actor needs to make the decision to cure his addictions himself and can't rely on other people to get him sober.
During an appearance on TV show 'The View', she said: "I don't think he should make it somebody else's responsibility to keep him sober. If he wants [his sobriety] to last for a long time, it's up to him. He's an adult and he needs to take responsibility for his actions."
The troubled 45-year-old actor - who was recently hospitalised with an apparent hernia after going on a 36-hour alcohol and cocaine binge - blasted 'Two and a Half Men' bosses saying production had been shut down when he tried to return to work, but Nicole is unimpressed with his whining.
She thinks his comments could be interpreted as "You guys better give me something to do."
Charlie recently revealed he finds being sober "boring" and claimed crack cocaine is fine if a person can "manage it socially".
He said: "I was sober for five years a long time ago and was just bored out of my tree. It's inauthentic - it's not who I am. I didn't drink for 12 years and, man, that first one [drink]. Wow."
Asked if he could stay away from the drug, Charlie replied, "Yeah, yeah, but that kinda blew up in my face ... like an exploding crack pipe."
