Sofia Vergara hates exercise

Sofia Vergara "hates" working out.

The 38-year-old actress knows she needs to put in more effort to maintain her slim figure as she gets older but prefers to dance instead of undertaking traditional forms of exercise.

She said: "Oh, I hate it. But I also know that at my age - I'm almost 40! - I have to do it to maintain my figure. When I can, I do Latin dancing for exercise because it's so much fun and I just love the music."

The 'Modern Family' star also revealed she used to get bullied at school over her slim figure, and admitted she wanted to "cut off" her breasts as she felt so out of proportion.

She told Shape magazine: "I was ridiculously skinny. They called me palillo, which means toothpick in Spanish, but suddenly I had these big boobs. It was terrible! I used to tell my mother: 'I'm going to cut these off as soon as I turn 18.' "

Sofia believes her eyes are her best feature and always tries to emphasise them with her make-up.

She said: "I'm sure men would tell you it's my boobs, but I like my eyes. They have a natural cat's-eye shape, so I try to play that up."
