Lindsay Lohan's lawyers will not receive a surveillance video allegedly showing her stealing a necklace until next week.
The 'Machete' actress is accused of thieving a $2,500 necklace from an up-market Los Angeles jewellery store in January, and the store's owner first claimed she saw her putting it in a Chanel bag before changing her story saying she walked out with it on.
However, someone close to the situation has told RadarOnline.com Lindsay's lawyer Shawn Holley will not receive the tapes from the District Attorney until next week.
The source said: "The DA won't be handing over the surveillance video until next week. The surveillance video has to be formatted for viewing. The DA has had the surveillance video for almost three weeks.
"The surveillance video was turned over by the jewellery store owner to the DA before Lindsay was charged with felony grand theft. Lindsay was charged almost two weeks ago. Shawn needs to see the video to determine the next step in the case."
Shawn has previously hinted her annoyance she had not yet received the tapes, which would conclude which of the owner's stories were true.
She said: "I'm sure the LAPD and the DA's Office have a good reason for not having turned over a key piece of evidence in this case, but I can't imagine what it is."
Lindsay is set to appear in court on 23 February for a hearing on the matter, to which she has pleaded not guilty.
The source added: "Lindsay is committed to her sobriety and she would like to resolve this matter as timely as possible."
