A suspect in the murder of Little Rock, Arkansas anchorwoman Anne Pressly has been arrested. Authorities arrested Curtis Lavell Vance Wednesday night at his Little Rock home.
Police identified Vance as a murder suspect in a news conference and were tipped off to his location soon after. “We went there and he’s in custody,” said Lt. Terry Hastings.
Investigators have not revealed what lead them to believe Vance murdered Pressly. Little Rock Police Chief Stuart Thomas said that it is a “very, very solid case due to solid detective work.”
Pressly, a popular news anchor at Little Rock station KATV-TV, was found severely beaten at her home in October. She sustained injuries around her face and upper body and a broken hand. After several days listed in critical condition at a nearby hospital, the 26-year-old died.
Police said they believed Pressly, who had a small part in the recent Oliver Stone film ‘W,’ was the victim of a random burglary as her purse was missing and her credit card was used several times.
KATV established a $30,000 reward for anyone providing information leading to the arrest of Pressly’s killer.
