Lakers End First Half of Season With a Loss to the Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers have made headlines this season for all the wrong reasons. Their best player abandoned them this summer, their owner ignited a public feud with said player, and they set a record for futility with a 26 game losing streak. Today they make headlines for something good, beating the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers heading into the All Star Break.

The 104-99 loss is the third in a row for the Lakers. The first at Orlando could be excused, at the Bobcats was "embarrassing" according to the coach, this loss is left players and coaches as a loss for words.

The Lakers game was marred by sloppy play and it appeared that the team started their All Star Break celebrations before the game started. Kobe Bryant picked up two fouls in the first quarter and was hit with a technical foul walking to the bench. He finished the game with only 17 points. Pau Gasol played well considering his team's struggles. He led the Lakers with 30 points and 20 rebounds.

The Cavaliers got a huge boost of the bench from Ramon Sessions. His 32 points were  a season high and kept the Cavs ahead of the Lakers, who turned the ball over 19 times in the game.
