The sister and brother-in-law of Bollywood actor Ashish Chowdhury were among the group of hostages killed in a terrorist attack at the Oberoi Trident Hotel in Mumbai, India.
Chowdhury says his sister Monica and her husband went to the hotel Wednesday night for dinner. The couple were taken hostage with nearly 40 others. According to reports, they were shot in the leg before being shot in the head.
“My sister Monica and her husband have been inside the hotel along with maybe 40 other hostages. They came here for dinner last night, but now they are not answering any calls,” Chowdhury said Thursday.
The actor waited outside the hotel ever since hearing about the attacks.
The attack on the Oberoi Hotel is one of several in the area. Hostages were also taken at the Taj Mahal Hotel and the Chabad House. At least 146 people have been killed and 300 others wounded.
