Michael Kors attracted a star-studded audience during his show at New York Fashion Week yesterday (16.02.11).
The designer was showcasing his autumn/winter 2011 collection at the Lincoln Center and a host of A-list names - including Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, Debra Messing, Anna Wintour and Anjelica Huston - were all in the front row to see his latest designs.
Former 'Will & Grace' Debra is such a huge fan of Michael she flew in from Los Angeles especially for the show.
She said: "I came to fashion week exclusively for Michael Kors. He's the real deal, he makes me feel confident, strong and effortless."
As attracting A-listers, Michael - who is celebrating 30 years in the industry this year - won high praise for his collection, which featured flowing shapes in sheer shimmering fabrics.
While halternecks, thigh-high splits and asymmetric necklines were in evidence, Michael's signature tailoring still played a big part in the collection, in the shape of grey and caramel trouser-suits.
Backstage, after the show, Michael told the Wall Street Journal: "I don't try to put people in a garment that's not them. Even the models. For this show we matched their outfits to their skin tone. If you're sporty, wear sporty. I don't believe in the Cinderella look."
New York Fashion Week ends tomorrow (18.02.11) with shows from Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, L'Wren Scott and Gwen Stefani.
