Kelvin Fletcher wants fake tan notice

Kelvin Fletcher wants 'Emmerdale' bosses to give him more notice before his topless scenes so he has time to fake tan.

The 26-year-old actor - who plays troubled Andy Sugden in the ITV1 soap - explained while he is happy to strip on screen, he wishes he could be given time to make his body look as though he has spent some time in the sun.

He said: "There have been times recently where I've had to take my top off on screen and I've thought, 'B****y hell, I look all right there'. I just wish they'd give me a bit more notice so I could get the fake tan on!

"Don't get me wrong - I'm not vain but when I'm older I hope I'll look back and think I looked OK a couple of times. Who wouldn't at my age?"

However, Kelvin - who has appeared on the show since the age of 12 - admits he cringes when he looks back at his early episodes of 'Emmerdale'.

He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Oh my God, I see old pictures and cringe. I mean, look at his clothes - what were they thinking of? I even look like I had a full-on perm at one stage.

"It sounds corny but I really have grown up on the show. Most people have got a few dodgy photographs tucked away from when they were younger - but mine have been seen by eight million viewers every night, so it's a lot harder to live them down."
