David Hasselhoff keen to impress the queen

David Hasselhoff is working extra hard on 'Britain's Got Talent' because he wants to impress Queen Elizabeth.

Show presenters Ant and Dec revealed the former 'Baywatch' hunk - who is joined on the judging panel by Michael McIntyre and Amanda Holden - is taking his role "very seriously" because he is so overwhelmed by the idea that the eventual winner will perform in front of the queen.

The duo explained: "We've had such a laugh over the month it almost shouldn't be allowed. Piers and Simon have been replaced by Michael and David, who both slotted straight in. Michael is brilliant, funny and, as a stand-up comedian, considerate to the performers' feelings - most of the time.

"David is full of energy and is taking the role of finding an act for the queen very seriously. We have had some cracking auditions."

Meanwhile, 'Britain's Got Talent' voice coach Yvie Burnett - who helped make a star of 2009 runner-up Susan Boyle by working on her 'I Dreamed A Dream' debut album - has been axed from the ITV1 show as part of changes to the format of the series.

However, after being sacked from her role on 'The X Factor' last year only to be quickly reinstated amid difficulties with the new vocal coaches, Yvie's firing comes as a double blow.

A friend told The Sun newspaper: "Yvie is not happy. There doesn't seem a concrete reason. They just talked about changes and that was that. Hopefully they'll keep her for 'The X Factor' as she loves working with Simon Cowell."
