Prince William chooses same photographer as Charles

Britain's Prince William has chosen the same wedding photographer as his father Prince Charles.

The 28-year-old prince has reportedly been so impressed with Hugo Burnand's work - including pictures from Charles' wedding to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall in 2005 and his 60th birthday portrait in 2008 - that he chose him over frontrunner Mario Testino for the role.

William - who will marry Kate Middleton, 29, at Westminster Abbey on April 29 - and his brother Harry have also been photographed by Mr. Burnand in the past and his discretion, spontaneity and charm, as well as his ability as a portrait photographer are said to have won him the job.

Testino was tipped to be chosen for the job after his official engagement pictures of William and Kate were widely praised.

Mr. Burnand - who is based in London's Notting Hill and has worked at Tatler magazine since 1993 - will be responsible for all official photographs of the royal couple on their wedding day.

After taking Charles' iconic birthday portrait at Clarence House, Hugo spoke publicly of how much he enjoyed working with the royal family.

He said: "I like to have an approachable feel with photographs so you are almost talking to the person."
