Britain's cannibalistic past?

Scientists have found evidence to suggest Britons used to be cannibals who drank from the skulls of their victims.

The remains of three humans, including a child, who appeared to have been killed, butchered and eaten, were found at Cheddar Gorge in South West England.

Among the grisly fragments were skull caps, which looked as though they had been used to drink from.

Professor Chris Stringer from the UK's Natural History Museum said: "Cannibalism would have been a good way of removing groups competing with you and getting food for yourself."
