Cabrera, 27, was arrested Feb. 16, 2011, for a DUI after coming off his best season yet as a Detroit Tiger. In lieu of Cabrera’s struggle and the intense media coverage, it’s becoming increasingly more evident that special issues arise when public figures collide head-on with substance abuse.
