AP Top 25 College Football Scores: #1 Alabama Crimson Tide Take Iron Bowl, Crush Auburn Tigers n SEC Showdown

Glen Coffee rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown, Mark Ingram added 64 yards rushing and a pair of TDs and John Parker Wilson threw for 134 yards and a score as the #1 Alabama Crimson Tide (12-0, 8-0) crushed the Auburn Tigers (5-7, 2-6) 36-0 in their annual Iron Bowl showdown on Saturday.

Despite having no offense to speak of the Tigers defense managed to keep Auburn close in the opening half as Alabama could only manage a field goal in the first quarter and a41-yard touchdown run from Coffee in the second frame to lead 10-0 at the break.

While Auburn hung around in the first half Alabama quickly buried them in the second as they put three touchdowns on the board in the third quarter to end any thoughts of an upset. Parker hit Nikita Stover on a 39-yard touchdown pass and then Ingram added a pair of touchdowns on runs of one and 14-yards.

Alabama finished up their scoring late in the fourth quarter as Greg McElroy, on for Parker, found Marquis Maze for a 34-yard touchdown.

Alabama will now face the Florida Gators in the SEC Championship with the winner likely earning a ticket to the BCS national championship game in Miami.
