AP Top 25 College Football Scores: #2 Florida Gators Tune Up for SEC Championship with Blasting of #23 Florida State Seminoles

Tim Tebow threw for 185 yards and three touchdowns while adding 80 yards rushing and a TD, Chris Rainey added 97 yards running on eight carries and the #2 Florida Gators (11-1) offense racked up 502 total yards in their 45-15 blasting of the #23 Florida State Seminoles (8-4) on Saturday.

Florida had little trouble against the overmatched Seminoles as they built a 14-3 advantage by the end of the first quarter with a 9-yard touchdown run from Percy Harvin and a 7-yard touchdown pass from Tebow to Aaron Hernandez.

That lead was extended to 28-9 by halftime as the Seminoles had to settle for a pair of field goals while the Gators got a 4-yard touchdown run from Tebow then he tossed a 24-yarder to Hernandez and the rout was on.

After picking off FSU QB Christian Ponder on the first play of the third quarter Tebow hooked up with Louis Murphy on a 23-yard touchdown pass to put the Gators in front 35-9.

The Seminoles finally found the endzone midway through the third when Jermaine Thomas scored from 4-yards out but it did little to affect the outcome of the game. Jeffrey Demps added a touchdown early in the fourth quarter to wrap up the scoring for the Gators.

Florida will now face the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game next week with the winner likely earning a ticket to the BCS national championship game in Miami.
