NFL Scores Week 13: Miami Dolphins Keep Playoffs within Sight, Knock Off St. Louis Rams on the Road

Chad Pennington threw for 166 yards, Ricky Williams collected 54 yards rushing and Ronnie Brown added 48 yards on the ground and a touchdown as the Miami Dolphins (7-5) went on the road and knocked off the St. Louis Rams (2-10) 16-12 on Sunday to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Rams carried a 6-0 lead into the second quarter after Josh Brown kicked a pair of field goals in the opening frame. That lead was erased early in the second when Brown scored from 3-yards out to give Miami a 7-6 advantage. Brown put the Rams back in front with a 33-yard field goal with 1:55 before halftime but Dan Carpenter answered with a 37-yard field goal as time expired for the 10-9 lead.

Carpenter then boosted the Dolphins advantage to 13-9 with a 47-yard field goal in the third and that’s the way the game would remain until Brown booted a 38-yard field goal early in the fourth. Carpenter gave Miami the four-point cushion once again when he connected from 42-yards out midway through the frame and the Dolphins defense shut down the Rams offense the rest of the way.

The Dolphins Defense picked off Marc Bulger three times to overcome 94 yards of rushing from Steven Jackson.
