Knicks Make Final Offer for Carmelo Anthony
Nets owner says meeting went great
The New York Knicks appear to have made their final offer for Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony. After months of rumors, other teams involvement and Anthony playing lights out basketball, the deadline has drawn near. The Knicks are reportedly offering Danilo Gallinari and Raymond Felton along with Wilson Chandler to the Nuggets in return for Anthony.
The trade comes after Anthony took a meeting with the Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov and minority owner Jay-Z at a Los Angeles area restaurant. The owners discussed, among other things, their view for the franchise and the move they plan on making to Brooklyn for the start of the 2012 season. Prokhorov described the deal as, "Just real man talk."
The Nets have already agreed to a trade with the Nuggets that involves four players and four first round draft picks from the Nets (including rookie Derrick Favors) and five players from the Nuggets, including Anthony and Chauncey Billups.
The decision on where Anthony ends up could be made anytime this week leading up to the trade deadline on Thursday.
