Navy Warship Following American Yacht Hijacked by Pirates

An unidentified military source has confirmed to CNN that a U.S. Navy Warship is trailing an American yacht hijacked by pirates last week. The S/V Quest was seized by Somali pirates off the coast of Oman last Friday. Four Americans -- including owners Jean and Scott Adam, and their friends Phyllis Macay and Bob Riggle – are still aboard the Quest.

A Somali government official told the Associated Press the Quest is currently near Yemen and is heading towards the coast of Somalia. United States officials have not released any information on the situation.

Within the last month, Somali pirates have hijacked three vessels – two tankers off the coast of Oman and one tanker in the Indian Ocean. It is estimated Somali pirates currently have 29 hijacked ships and 660 hostages.
