Google Remains Number one Search Engine Despite Controversy

The world’s largest search engine has been the subject of much controversy lately. In European courts Google face anti-trust laws by various search engines claim the giant restricts the development of new technologies by prioritizing its searches over others. Google also was called to the carpet when the JC Penney was caught using black hat search engine optimization to increase its rankings. Google however went into action and brought Penney’s rankings down.

In spite of all the recent controversy Google still is used by two-thirds of the people who surf the web. The term ‘Google It ‘frequently pops up in the media. Their next biggest competitor Yahoo was only used 16 percent of the time. The many technologies employed by Google and their increasing push to tie these technologies together will likely keep them at the top. Most businesses and search engine optimization firms realize the power Google yields in the world of technology and the internet.

Google also maintains their dominance by employing other technologies like smart phones and tablets which are run by Google platforms. So despite the Google naysayers the search engine giant will be around for a long time. As Google continues to connect their technologies and better connect their various applications they will continue to be a favored search engine. They also remain a vital tool in search marketing. The value of Google advertising and search engine optimization cannot be denied and are employed by numerous businesses worldwide.
