Uma Thurman has signed up to star in new sports comedy 'Playing the Field'.
The 40-year-old actress will play one of a host of mothers who try to seduce Gerard Butler's character when he takes over as coach of his son's soccer team in order to spend some quality time with him.
Jessica Biel has also signed on to the project as the coach's ex-wife and mother of his son, who is currently planning her wedding to a new man.
Gerard's character is a former soccer player whose guilt over his wild partying lifestyle leads him to agree to work with his son's team. However his flirtations with a number of players' mothers get him into trouble.
The film will be directed by Gabriele Muccino and produced by the leading man from a script written by Robbie Fox. Pre-production is currently underway with filming set to start shooting soon.
Uma has a host of new movies planned for 2011/ 2012 including 'Movie 43', 'Bel Ami' with Robert Pattinson and 'Foolproof'. The actress has also signed up to re-enact her role of The Bride in 'Kill Bill Volume 3'.
