Britain's Prince Charles has met Cheryl Cole to discuss the launch of her new charitable foundation.
The 'Promise This' singer - who plans to start the project in April in aid of the Prince's Trust organisation - visited the heir to the throne to discuss the new charity, which will provide much-needed funds for youths in the 27-year-old star's home town of Newcastle, north-east England.
Meeting the royal at his Clarence House residence, Cheryl explained she hopes her foundation will help young people in and around the Newcastle area to fulfil their true potential in life.
She said: "Too many young people grow up thinking no-one cares and don't believe they can make anything of themselves. They have so much potential - but can go off the rails without the right care and support. I want my Foundation to help them realise their potential and get their lives on track.
"I have always been a great admirer of the work of the Prince's Trust with disadvantaged young people across the UK. It's the perfect charity for my foundation to support."
Founded in 1976, the Prince's Trust - which is Charles' flagship charity - has been supporting disadvantaged young people in the UK by helping them to return to education, gain vital life skills and set up their own businesses.
