The NBA schedule for Tuesday Dec. 2 boasts a full slate of games with Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers (14-1) putting their perfect 5-0 road record on the line against the Indiana Pacers (6-10) drawing a lot of attention.
Bryant has led the Lakers, winners of seven straight, to a fast start with 24.4 points per game while dishing out 4.2 assists per game to give Los Angeles a 4.5 game lead over the Phoenix Suns in the Pacific. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
The New Jersey Nets (9-7) have won three straight and will be hosting the injury-plagued Washington Wizards (2-12) who have yet to win on the road this year and hold the worst record in the Eastern Conference. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
Greg Oden has silenced many of his critics as the Portland Trailblazers (12-6) have won four straight and sit atop the Northwest and they’ll look to build on that when they travel to take on the NY Knicks (8-8) who can’t seem to escape the Stephon Marbury disaster. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
Derrick Rose has grabbed the headlines and Ben Gordon has been providing the points as the Chicago Bulls (8-9) continue to build with a young squad and they’ll host the Philadelphia 76ers (7-10) who have dropped four straight. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
Dirk Nowitzki will try to get the Dallas Mavericks (8-8) right at home after a disappointing 2-4 start on their court and there may be no better team than the Los Angeles Clippers (3-13) to get that started. LA has posted a 1-4 record on the road and have looked disastrous this year. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
Perhaps the most intriguing game on the menu will be the San Antonio Spurs (9-7) hosting the Detroit Pistons (10-6) as both teams are looking to hit their stride. The Spurs are enjoying the return of Manu Ginoboli while the Pistons are still trying to gel with Allen Iverson. The Pistons are a solid road team with a 5-3 mark while the Spurs are an average 5-4 at home. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
Chauncey Billups has been a huge pickup for the Denver Nuggets (12-6) who are running on all cylinders with Carmelo Anthony playing an all-around game. They’ll be hosting Chris Bosh and the Toronto Raptors (8-8) who have held serve on the road at 4-4. Tip-off is set for 9:00 p.m. ET.
The Sacramento Kings (5-14) have dropped six straight games and are spiraling downwards and they’ll have their work cut out for them as they host the Utah Jazz (11-7) who remain one of the NBA’s most consistent teams. Tip-off is set for 10:00 p.m. ET.
