Staff at a British museum were shocked to find the remains of a dodo hidden among their exhibits.
Half of one of the now extinct birds was found among crocodile bones in a wooden Edwardian box in the natural history collection at Grant, which is part of University College of London.
Jack Ashby, the museum's learning access manager said the remains had got mixed up in error but the find is so interesting it is now on display.
He said: "They do have common characteristics, crocodiles and birds. It was an understandable mistake."
