Sudden Acceleration Problems Behind Toyota Recall

by Daun Lee

Toyota is recalling 2.17 million vehicles because they have potential acceleration problems due to design defects which could trap the gas pedal. The models being recalled include of the Highlander, Lexus RX and Lexus GS. Older models recalled in 2009 are the Rav 4, 4 Runner and Lexus LX. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that no electronic failures caused acceleration issues but defects in interior design and mechanics posed risks. As the second largest auto manufacturer, Toyota is facing numerous civil lawsuits which include personal injury, wrongful death and property damage attribute to the acceleration issues.

Traffic accidents account for the highest number of accidental injuries and death experienced by American on an annual basis. Usually these accidents are caused by another’s negligence but in Toyota’s case , the accidents are manufacturers defects. Those who suffer from personal injuries incur debt associated to the loss of wages and medical care expenses but an accident attorney can help relive that debt by seeking compensation. A mind free of financial worries can speed the recovery process.

Those who are killed in an accident leave behind family members that depend on them for economic support. With the employ of an accident lawyer loved ones can recoup the lost income attributed to their wrongful death. Grieving a loved one isn’t easier with money but survivors deserve to be justly compensated for their suffering. The duty of an accident attorney is to protect the rights of the injured and appeal to the courts for justice.
