Celtics Make Deadline Deal with Thunder
The Boston Celtics have made a late deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder to get the swingman they desperately wanted in their rotation. The Celtics are sending center Kendrick Perkins along with guard Nate Robinson to Oklahoma. In return they will get Jeff Green and front-court player Nenad Krstic.
Perkins has been sitting out recently with a sprained left MCL, but is expected to recover. Jeff Green was originally drafted by the Celtics in 2007 as a top five pick, but was traded to the Thunder when they were still in Seattle and called the SuperSonics. That trade was made to bring Ray Allen to Boston and establish the original "Big 3."
