Katie Holmes has been honoured by MaxMara as their 'Face of the Future'.
The annual award is given by the Italian fashion label to recognise style, talent and the recipient's contribution to the community and Katie who travelled to Milan Fashion Week for the brand's catwalk presentation said she was thrilled with the honour because she adores the label.
She explained: "Their clothes are so comfortable and beautifully made, I love wearing them. I'm so excited to be here at Milan Fashion Week, this is my first time. I haven't been shopping yet but I will sneak in some time to shop."
Ian Griffiths - Head of Design Style for the brand - revealed they had chosen Katie because she is the epitome of a MaxMara customer.
He told the Daily Telegraph: "Katie's style is chic and modern, it equates with the Max Mara style because it gives you confidence so you look good in anything. No matter what you're doing you don't have to worry about how you look.
"With MaxMara you have to wear the clothes nonchalantly, you treat a camel coat like it's nothing special and then mix it with something a bit more sexy like Katie does."
The award will be presented to Katie - who attended the fashion show in Milan yesterday (24.02.11) with her mother Kathleen - at a gala in Beverly Hills in June where she will join the ranks of previous recipients Zoe Saldana, Emily Blunt and Elizabeth Banks.
Meanwhile Dolce and Gabbana presented an Eighties inspired collection in Milan yesterday and Karl Lagerfeld provided a modern take on Victorian inspired clothes for Fendi while today (25.02.11) Pucci will livestream its show from the Italian city.
