Gunmen Looking For Drug Dealer Kill 3 Children in Mexico

A group of men looking for man possibly involved with a drug cartel killed the man’s two children and one other child Wednesday night, police in Mexico announced Thursday. The girls were playing in the front yard of a home in the city of Ciudad Juarez when they were shot and killed.

"The intended target of the attack was the father of two of the minors. The father was involved in drug sales, and the group of armed men came to the house to kill him. That was the motive for the attack. All three minors died. There were no survivors,” said Chihuahua state prosecutor spokesman Arturo Sandoval.

The girls were 12, 14 and 15 years old. The shooting is under investigation.

Last year alone, more than 3,100 people were murdered in Ciudad Juarez. The majority of the deaths were the result of the Juarez and Sinaloa drug cartels fighting for control of the city.
