Kanye West "808s and Heartbreak" Tops Guns 'N Roses, Ludacris on Billboard Charts

Kanye West and his new album 808s and Heartbreak beat out Guns 'N Roses and Ludacris to debut No. 1 on the Billboard charts on Wednesday.

West's 808s and Heartbreak sold 450,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, the artist's lowest debut sales frame since his first album, The College Dropout, sold with 441,000 in 2004. This is West's third straight No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 charts

His last release Graduation began with 957,000 at No. 1 last year, while sophomore set Late Registration checked in with 860,000 at No. 1 in 2005.

West's album was originally set for a Dec. 16 release date, but was pushed up a couple weeks ago to maximize the Thanksgiving and Black Friday sales weekend.

Taylor Swift moved up from No. 4 to No. 2 with his album Fearless after selling 267,000 copies. The boost was attributed to the Thanksgiving sale prices and his recent performance at the American Music Awards on Nov. 23, according to Billboard.

Guns 'N Roses came in No. 3 after releasing its first studio album since 1991. GNR's last studio efforts, Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II, debuted at Nos. 2 and 1 respectively, with 685,000 and 770,000 after being released on the same day in 1991.

Beyonce's latest album I Am... Sasha Fierce dropped from No. 1 to No. 4 with 257,000. However, Beyonce's song "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" is the No. 1 song on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart and the Hot Digital Songs chart. The song is No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, followed by her hit "If I Were A Boy".

Debuting right behind at No. 5 is Ludacris' Theater of the Mind with 213,000. It's the first time one of Ludacris' albums debuted anywhere but No. 1 since 2001's Word of Mouf bowed and peaked at No. 3.
