The body of former NHL star Hubert “Pit” Martin was found by divers on Tuesday following a snowmobile accident that sent the 64-year-old into an icy lake near his Quebec.
Martin, a four-time All-Star, had been riding his snowmobile on Lake Kanasuta on Nov. 30 when the ice cracked and plunged into the water below. He had lived on an island in the lake that was accessible by boat in the summer while a snowmobile was needed in the winter.
Martin played from 1963-79 skating for the Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks.
