OAP's electric unicycle

A Chinese retiree has invented an electric unicycle which he claims can go 40 miles on a single charge.

Li Yunian, 66, took two months to build his invention which he calls "Cool Friend".

He said: "It is mainly made out of old bikes. It cost me less than $162 in total - including the three batteries!"

The clever pensioner is now getting locals of his native Taiyuan to try out the vehicle and is welcoming suggestions on how to make it even better.
