President Bush and Wife Laura Purchase Preston Hollow Home in Dallas
President George W. Bush and his wife Laura have purchased a home in the exclusive Preston Hollow neighborhood in north Dallas, TX, according to reports on Thursday.
The Bushes purchased an 8,000 square foot, one-story home on a cul-de-sac in Preston Hollow, which is known as one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the state of Texas. The Preston Hollow neighborhood is within Dallas city limits and is located in close proximity to Southern Methodist University, the future site of George W. Bush's presidential library.
The house is valued at just over $2 million, according to county property records and reporting by the Dallas Morning News. Built in 1959, the home sits on 1.13 acres, has four bedrooms, 4 ½ baths, a wet bar, a fireplace and 8,501 square feet of living space, including 896 square feet of servant quarters.
Preston Hollow is the same neighborhood where they lived from December 1988 through January 1995, prior to Bush's election as Texas governor. His neighbors will include Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, former presidential candidate Ross Perot, and Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars owner Tom Hicks.
The Bushes will continue to spend time at their family ranch in Crawford, TX.
