British MP calls for Prince Andrew to be sacked

Britain's Prince Andrew should be sacked from his role as a UK trade ambassador, a member of Britain's parliament (MP) has claimed.

Chris Bryant, the Labour party's shadow justice minister, thinks the Duke of York - Queen Elizabeth's son - should lose his job as trade envoy because of his close ties to Libyan dictator Colonel Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam.

Speaking in the House of Commons, Bryant said: "Isn't it increasingly difficult to explain the behaviour of the UKTI (UK Trade and Investment) special ambassador for trade, who is not only a very close friend of Saif Gaddafi, but is also a close friend of the convicted Libyan gun smuggler Tarek Kaituni?

"Isn't it time we dispensed with the services of the Duke of York?"

Answering the query, British Prime Minister David Cameron explained while he wasn't aware of the allegations, he would "look into" the connections between the pair.

Mr. Cameron said: "I'm not aware of the particular connections he Mr. Bryant chooses to make. I'm very happy to look into them."

This comes after Prince Andrew's role as trade envoy was put into question over the weekend after Virginia Roberts - who claims the royal's billionaire friend Jeffrey Epstein sexually exploited her while she was a teenage minor - was pictured with the prince when she was just 17.
