Car Bombing in Pakistani City of Peshawar Kills at least 16, More than 70 Injured

A car bombing outside a Shia mosque in the Pakistani city of Peshawar has left at least 16 people dead and another 70 injured. Several women and children were among the dead and hospitals have been overrun with bodies and have appealed for blood donations.

The bombing struck near a busy area of the city where many Muslims had been shopping for the upcoming festival of Eid.

Peshawar, located in the northwestern territory of Pakistan, has been long been the center of religious violence as Sunni Muslims often target the minority Shia Muslims.
