Sonus Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:SONS) jumped 26.24% to $3.83. The company posted a surprise quarterly profit as product revenue jumped 15 percent, and forecast market-topping sales for 2011. Fourth-quarter net profit rose 11 percent to $11.4 million, or 4 cents share, while total revenue jumped 21 percent to $83 million.

The company reported product revenue of $54.1 million. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters were expecting a loss of 1 cent a share on revenue of $65.1 million.

Novavax, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVAX) soared 16.12% to $3.02 after it made its fresh one-year high of $3.50. Dow Jones reported that Novavax Inc. secured a flu-vaccine contract with the U.S. Government worth $97 million over three years, according to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The company also announced a licensing agreement with LG Life Sciences Ltd. for the use of its vaccine technology in South Korea.

Royale Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:ROYL) rose 9.68% to $6.57. The stock has average daily volume of 647K shares. At current market price, the market capitalization of the company stands at $66.83 million.

Star Scientific, Inc. (NASDAQ:CIGX) surged 6.11% to $1.91. Star Scientific, Inc. is engaged in the development of very low-tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNA), non-fermented smokeless tobacco products.
