Charlie Sheen loses access to sons

Charlie Sheen has been temporarily stripped of access to his 23-month-old twin sons.

The troubled actor's estranged partner Brooke Mueller submitted a declaration to Los Angeles Superior Court requiring him to give up Bob and Max, who she claims he took from her home without permission on February 26.

When she tried to get her sons back from him she was left fearful for her own safety and her children's wellbeing, when he allegedly said: "I will cut your head off, put it in a box and send it to your mom."

Judge Hank M. Goldberg has now stripped Charlie of his custody rights and imposed a separate restraining order which doesn't allow him to communicate with Brooke - who herself is in day treatment for substance abuse problems - or be allowed within 100 yards of her or his sons.

Police arrived at his Beverly Hills home to remove the boys on Tuesday night (01.02.11).

In court documents, Brooke stated: "I am very concerned that Sheen is currently insane. I am in great fear that he will find me and attack me and I am in great fear for the children's safety while in his care ... He rarely saw our children since our December 25 domestic incident and only recently began to show any interest in them."

A court hearing has been set for March 22 to decide whether or not the restraining order will be extended, with Charlie and Brooke both ordered to appear.

The 45-year-old actor - who has been receiving home rehab treatment for alcohol and cocaine use - took to twitter to insist his twin sons were doing good, despite the incident.

He wrote: "My sons' are fine ... My path is now clear ... Defeat is not an option! (sic)"
