BBC One is hoping to capitalise on the popularity of 'Waterloo Road' by launching an online spin-off.
The new show - which will be available on the BBC website and via the red button service from today (02.03.11) onwards - will catch up with the unruly students who left the fictional school at the end of the last series.
Featuring a reunion party at single mum Janeece Bryant's (Chelsee Healey) house, 'Waterloo Road Reunited' will document the lives of a number of ex-pupils, with plenty of "bombshells" set to be dropped.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Much has changed - with some of the ex-pupils flourishing and others feeling lost in the real world.
"Paul (Thomas Milner) tries to move his relationship with Aleesha (Lauren Thomas) to a new level and it's clear to everyone there's chemistry between Bolton (Tachia Newall) and Michaela (Zaraah Abrahams). But Michaela drops a bombshell that leaves everybody reeling."
The series will feature a selection of scripted episodes - in a similar style to those of the BBC One show, which stars Tina O'Brien as runaway rebel Bex Fisher - as well as allowing fans to have an input through social media networks.
