Paddy McGuinness to co-host 71 Degrees North

Paddy McGuinness will front the second series of survival show '71 Degrees North'.

The 'Take Me Out' presenter will pair up with sports anchorwoman Charlotte Jackson to co-host the show - which sees 10 celebrities battle it out in a number of challenges in the Scandinavian Arctic - but he admits he is jealous of other TV personalities who get to work in studios while he visits the frozen north.

He said: "It's very flattering to be part of the ITV family. Ant and Dec get to spend time in sunny Australia, Dermot O'Leary fronts the biggest show on television and Phil and Holly enjoy a lovely daytime gig by the Thames. What do I get? A month in the Arctic Circle! Let the frost, see the bite."

Charlotte, best known for her work on Sky Sports News, added she was "excited" to be involved in the show.

She said: "I am hugely excited to be a part of the new series of '71 Degrees North'.  It's going to be very cold but great fun."

The series - which was last year won by former 'Hollyoaks' actor Marcus Patrick - will take place over eight episodes and will be filmed later this year.
