Avoid Wasteful Spending and Inefficiency with Effective Performance Software for Computer Network Systems
When a company announces that it will be cutting costs
and tightening their budget the initial reaction among employees is
often times based in fear, and for good reason. In many cases when a
company makes such a decision it is usually followed with pay freezes,
downsizing, or reduction in hours. The problem with these actions is
that they focus on the symptoms of the problem and typically fail to
address the bigger issue. While this approach may initially reduce
payroll and production costs it does nothing to improve a company’s
efficiency or future growth and in the end it will likely result in
another round of the same actions.
That’s not to say that cutting costs isn’t an effective method of saving
money, those cost cuts just have to come in the right area. There is
such a thing as wasteful spending and when companies take a closer look
at how their business is being run they can often times find a number of
examples. This wasteful spending is usually associated with
inefficiency and while that may sound like a problem with employees the
reality is the trouble is likely rooted in the company’s computer
network system.
Companies often designate a considerable portion of their budget to
their computer network system, recognizing that it is the foundation
that facilitates a number of functions within the business. When this
network system is operating up to its capabilities a company will see a
more efficient and productive work environment. Conversely, when that
network system is slowed down or its health simply ignored there is a
general feeling of disorganization and waste that dominates the work
environment.
So when a company is looking to cut costs and save money the first area
they should address is their computer network system. If this network
isn’t performing properly then it doesn’t matter how many jobs are cut
or pay freezes are implemented the company will continue to waste money.
Only by eliminating the real problem will a company truly cut costs and
save money.
Looking at the responsibilities of a computer network makes it obvious
how a company could be wasting money when that system isn’t performing
at its peak. Employees rely upon that network system to share files,
software, and hardware, communicate with customers and clients through
email as well as with other employees through internal messaging,
quickly access and browse the Internet, store a wealth of data, and
secure information. A hitch in any of these functions is wasted time
which of course amounts to wasted dollars.
What this means is that targeting payroll or production when making cost
cutting decisions is missing the real problem; a company needs to be
dedicated to cutting the costs associated with wasted dollars. The
wasted dollars tied to an underperforming network system are usually
brought on by the computer disease known as fragmentation, a condition
in which pieces of individual files and free space on a disk are not
contiguous but rather broken up and scattered around the disk.
Fragmentation breeds further inefficiency and failure to address the
disease will only make the situation worse. Employees will continue to
experience slow boot up times for their computers, difficulty accessing
and sending emails, problems retrieving files, and lost information
until a company restores the network system back to health. Continuing
to ignore fragmentation will ultimately lead to a complete network crash
and if that occurs a company may be facing bigger problems than just
trying to cut costs.
Fortunately upgrading the health of a computer network system is easy
and can be done by simply installing performance software. Not only will
performance software act as defrag,
repairing those disjointed files and improving the network system’s
speed, it will also extend the network’s life meaning a company won’t
have to face the financial burden of costly repairs or complete
replacement of their equipment.
Performance software is essentially a positive cost cutting measure,
eliminating the wasted dollars while preserving jobs, improving
efficiency and boosting production capabilities. Companies like
Diskeeper
have developed their
performance software to protect and preserve the integrity of a computer
network system and by doing this companies that are implementing cost
cutting measures can actually target the real problem and avoid
addressing just the symptoms.
