AP Top 25 College Football Scores: #5 USC Trojans Claim Pac-10 Title with Win Over UCLA Bruins, Rose Bowl Up Next

Mark Sanchez threw for 269 yards and two touchdowns, Joe McKnight rushed for 99 yards and a TD and Patrick Turner had 81 yards receiving and a score as the #5 USC Trojans (11-1, 8-1) knocked off the UCLA Bruins (4-8, 3-6) 28-7 on Saturday to claim the Pac-10 title and lock up a berth to the Rose Bowl where they will face the Penn State Nittany Lions.

The Bruins actually jumped to a 7-0 lead against the Trojans as Kahlil Bell scored on a 21-yard touchdown pass from Dominique Johnson but that was all the Trojans defense would allow as the USC offense took care of business. McKnight evened the score at 7-7 with a 12-yard touchdown run and after the Bruins were forced to punt Sanchez gave the Trojans the lead with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Damian Williams.

USC added a touchdown late in the second quarter as Stafon Johnson scored on a 2-yard run and it was clear the 21-7 advantage would be enough as the Bruins offense showed no signs of life.

Sanchez capped the 28-straight point run for the Trojans with an 18-yard touchdown pass to Patrick Turner early in the third quarter.

The Trojans defense was dominant as they allowed just 157 yards of total offense.
