NFL Scores Week 14: San Francisco 49ers Hand NY Jets Second Straight Loss, AFC East Now Three-Way Tie

Shaun Hill threw for 285 yards and two touchdowns, Isaac Bruce finished with 70 yards receiving and the San Francisco 49ers (5-8) defense held the New York Jets (8-5) to just 182 yards of total offense in a surprising 24-14 victory on Sunday sending the AFC East into a three-way tie.

It was the 49ers defense that put the first points on the board as Joe Staley recovered a fumble in the endzone for a 7-0 lead. Brett Favre evened things up at 7-7 in the second quarter when he scored on a 2-yard keeper but Frank Gore put the 49ers back in front when he hauled in a 4-yard pass from Hill in the final minute of the half.

Thomas Jones tied the game at 14-14 in the third when he scored on a 17-yard run and the game remained knotted until the fourth. Joe Nedney gave San Francisco a 17-14 lead when he split the uprights from 32 yards out and Hill put the game away when he hit Bryant Johnson on a 3-yard touchdown pass.

The loss threw the AFC East into a three-way tie with the Jets now tied with the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins.
