NFL Scores Week 14: Pittsburgh Steelers Use Big Fourth Quarter to Drop Dallas Cowboys, NFC Playoff Picture Clouds

Heath Miller scored the game-tying touchdown on a 6-yard reception with 2:04 left in the fourth quarter and less than 20 seconds later the Steelers moved in front 20-14 after Deshea Townsend picked off Tony Romo and returned it 26-yards for a score as the Pittsburgh Steelers (10-3) shocked the Dallas Cowboys (8-5) 20-14 with 17-points in the fourth quarter to further muddle the NFC playoff picture.

The Cowboys turned the ball over five times on the day but it was Romo’s third interception that sealed the game. For three quarter the Cowboys managed to keep the Steelers at bay as they carried a 13-3 advantage into the fourth.

After a scoreless first quarter both teams managed field goals in the second and the game was tied 3-3 at halftime.

In the third the Cowboys jumped in front 10-3 when Romo hit Terrell Owens on a 12-yard touchdown and Nick Folk added a 33-yard field goal for a 13-3 advantage heading into the final frame.

Pittsburgh’s offense had struggled throughout the first three quarter but Jeff Reed kept the Steelers in the game with a 41-yard field goal with 7:15 left in the game. Ben Roethlisberger then put together a strong series and got the Steelers in the endzone for the first time on the day when he hit Miller on the 6-yard toss.

Following the kickoff Tony Romo was looking to get his Cowboys within field goal range but he was picked off by Townsend who returned it 26 yards for the game-winning TD.
